Dr. Khalid Shirif is a board-certified surgeon and palliative care medical professional based in Mesa, Arizona, where he concurrently serves as owner and medical director at Anthem Hospice and medical director at Traditions Hospice and Sunrise Health. In addition, he is the owner and medical director at Vanguard Physician Group. Dr. Khalid Shirif previously served as medical director at Sunrise Hospice and Reflections Hospice.

Dr. Khalid Shirif has been working at hospices in Mesa since 2007. Before that, he completed a surgery residency at State University of New York at Buffalo. He was chosen as administrative chief resident in his final year at the school, and presented research on transplant surgery at the 2005 American College of Surgeons annual meeting.

In addition to his residency, Dr. Shirif conducted research in endothelial cell proliferation in contaminated abdomen at Boston University Medical School. He also completed a surgery internship at the school and earned his doctor of medicine and a bachelor's degree in physiology from the University of Minnesota.
