The recipient of a bachelor's degree in English and master's degree in education from James Madison University, Kimberly L. Winters began her teaching career in 2010. While teaching English at a high school, she emphasized cultural traditions and their influences on literature to engage students and encourage them to develop a better understanding of themselves. In addition to Grade 9 and 10 English, Kimberly L. Winters prepared and implemented lesson plans for Advanced Placement Language and Composition.
Kimberly L. Winters has since taught Middle School English and is now once again working in a high school setting. Supplementing her classroom experience, she is certified in Literacy Journey: The Reading and Writing Workshop Model and Project Based Learning. She also completed the Integrating American Literature into AP Language workshop.
Outside of the classroom, Ms. Winters has mentored multiple English teachers and served on School Improvement, Positive Behavior Intervention and Support, and Cooperative Learning teams. She has also coached girls' varsity and junior varsity soccer, as well as junior varsity volleyball.
