After earning diplomas in piano and chamber music from the Royal Conservatories of Ghent and Liège (Belgium), Kristof Van Grysperre, a native of Belgium with roots in France, matriculated at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles where he obtained master of music degrees in both keyboard collaborative arts and orchestral conducting. He went on to earn a doctor of musical arts in keyboard collaborative arts with minor concentrations in musicology, choral conducting, and opera conducting at the same university. Over the course of his career, Maestro Van Grysperre has served as conductor for dozens of operatic productions both domestically and abroad. His work as a vocal coach includes tenures with both the Tanglewood Music Center in Lenox, Massachusetts, and the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra in Bakersfield, California.
In addition to his accomplishments in the world of classical music, Van Grysperre has collaborated on several cabaret shows with skilled soprano Susan Mohini Kane. Belgian filmmaker Lieven Debrauwer staged the original production of their show DUEL-DUET.
