Kursat Pekgoz is a University of Southern California student who is working towards a Ph.D. in English Literature. Pekgoz has a history for human rights advocacy. He has focused on protecting the rights of political dissidents and religious minorities against Islamic fundamentalists in the past.
Since 2016, Pekgoz also engaged in Title IX advocacy (pro bono) on behalf of male college students. His emphasis in this area of federal anti-discrimination law focuses on defending the rights of male students who do not benefit from affirmative action and other gender-exclusive programs offered to the female majority. His complaints are pro bono, and seek to improve the class action rights of the male minority.
Having received an M.A. in English literature in the past, Kursat Pekgoz is presently working on a dissertation that explores “Law and Literature in Renaissance Tragedy.” Pekgoz is a long-distance swimmer who has covered 5,000 meters in 130 minutes and swum 10,000 meters in cold open sea.
