Larry Wittig, based in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania, has served as a Certified Public Accountant for more than four decades. He currently heads WITTIG CPA’s as the firm’s senior partner. Larry Wittig is also a strong supporter of a variety of local educational organizations, and has served as president of the Tamaqua Area School Board since 1995.

Larry Wittig has additionally worked as a member of the Schuylkill Community Education Council since 2002. The council supports opportunities in higher education and job-skills training, and acts as an information clearinghouse.

Mr. Wittig’s other efforts in the field of education include his long-term current position as an ambassador for Lehigh Carbon Community College. He played a key role in funding the LCCC Tamaqua campus through the John E. Morgan Foundation.

In addition, he has served as a member of the Governor’s Commission on Academic Standards, under former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge, and as a member of the Schuylkill Education and Economic Advisory Council. He spent 16 years as a member and almost 7 years as chair of the Pennsylvania State Board of Education.

From 2015 to 2017, Larry Wittig was a member of the President’s Advisory Council of Drexel University, his alma mater. He also devoted more than a decade to his service as a member of the Philadelphia University (now Thomas Jefferson University) board of trustees.
