A celebrated actress, Laura Harring earned international acclaim when she appeared opposite Naomi Watts in the David Lynch film Mulholland Drive. Because of this performance, Roger Ebert and the International Herald Tribune likened Laura Harring to Rita Hayworth and Ava Gardner, respectively. Laura won an Alma Award and a Golden Eagle Award for her dual roles in Mulholland Drive. And the movie itself, was recently voted Best Movie of the 21st Century in multiple polls.
Over the course of her career, Ms. Harring has collaborated with several other leading stars, including Javier Bardem, John Travolta, and Denzel Washington to name a few.
Alongside her work in film, Laura Harring has also appeared extensively in television programming, most recently as Daniela Ruah’s mother on NCIS: Los Angeles and in multiple Law & Order episodes. Her past television work includes critically acclaimed shows, such as The Shield and the popular international hit, Gossip Girl, as well as Sunset Beach from Aaron Spelling.
To improve her craft, Laura Harring has worked with several prominent acting coaches, including Allan Rich, Stella Adler, and Silvana Gallardo. This training has pushed Ms. Harring to take on unique roles. In 2009, for example, she played a small-town survivor of sexual abuse in the indie film Drool. This role earned her Outfest’s Grand Jury Award for Outstanding Actress in a Feature Film and a special mention at the Gasparilla International Film Festival.
