Dr. Laura Lyn Jacimore serves as a board-certified radiation oncologist as part of the UNC-Nash Health Care System in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, providing patient care in an outpatient setting for cancer patients who require radiation as part of their treatment. She also lends her expertise to other professionals in cancer treatment through her membership in the health system's cancer committee, which meets five times each year to discuss multidisciplinary elements of cancer care, including screening, prevention, treatment, and survivorship. Dr. Laura Lyn Jacimore also serves the UNC-Nash Health Care system, representing the Nash Danny Talbott Cancer Center, as immediate past president of its medical staff, after recently completing a 2-year term as President, during which time she participated in various departmental and board meetings and on multiple committees seeking to improve the quality of care and physician performance.
Dr. Jacimore attended the University of Arkansas for much of her education. She completed an undergraduate degree in nutrition at its Fayetteville campus before moving to the Little Rock campus to complete a dietetic internship and, subsequently, earn her medical degree. After finishing the school's Doctor of Medicine program and receiving its Winston K. Shorey Award for outstanding graduating seniors, she completed a one-year transitional internship, followed by a four-year radiation oncology residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas.
