Based in Portland, Oregon, Laura Parker prepared for her career as a subject matter expert focused on eLearning and technology products by attending Georgetown University, where she earned a bachelor of arts in economics and government in 2001. In 2003, Laura Parker went on to achieve a master's degree in policy from Columbia University in New York City.
As the vice president of solution strategy at a leading publisher from 2010 to 2013, Ms. Parker honed her knowledge of enterprise software and digital products. During this period, she played an integral role in the publisher’s move from print-based publishing to offering a vast set of digital learning products and services. From 2013 to 2018, Ms. Parker went on to work as a freelance consultant at Guidepoint Advisors based in New York City, where she provided analytics related to the eLearning market. Today, she advises clients on a wide range of technology products as an independent consultant at AlphaSites.
In addition to her professional activities, she enjoys traveling with her children, as well as exploring the Portland’s neighborhoods, museums, and family attractions. As a committed athlete, she also regularly plays tennis, hikes, and pursues trail running.
