Lisa Galper, PsyD, has worked with the Scottsdale Weight Loss Center since 2006. As a clinical psychologist, she provides a holistic approach to treatment, integrating behavioral and cognitive components alongside mindfulness techniques. Lisa Galper also operates a private practice where she works with couples, individuals, and groups, treating eating and mood disorders, among other issues.
In her practice, Dr. Galper utilizes treatment techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and prolonged exposure therapy. She also trains dietitians, exercise physiologists, and other mental health professionals to work with those suffering from obesity and eating disorders. In addition, she co-authored an award-winning self-help book, “Am I Hungry? What to Do When Diets Don’t Work.”
Lisa Galper graduated from Rutgers University with a bachelor of arts in communications. She also has a master of science in clinical psychology from Nova Southeastern University. She earned her doctor of psychology in 1998. She has been a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
