Leveraging more than 35 years of public service experience, Lisle Baker is a Ward 7 Councilor with the City of Newton, where he is one of 24 councilors responsible for allocating more than $300 million towards city services such as schools, public works, and the police department. Lisle Baker's public service extends beyond Newton City Hall, as he serves as a board member on numerous civic organizations. He is also the creator of the Aldermen at Work public affairs interview series, which was named Best Government Series by Newton Community Access Television in 2011 and earned him Newton Community Access Television Producer of the Year in 2009.

Lisle Baker's career also includes his work as a legal educator and attorney. He has served as a professor of law at Suffolk University Law School since 1973, and previously served five years as an attorney with the Boston law firm of Hill & Barlow. Moreover, he served as a mediator before both the Suffolk County District Court and Superior Court of Suffolk County. Mr. Baker earned his law degree from Harvard Law School and recently earned a master's degree of applied positive psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. He has since organized two conferences at Suffolk University Law School on Integrating Positive Psychology into Legal Education.
