Texas Division, Catholic Health Initiatives

A longtime health care professional, Liz Youngblood began her career as a nurse after earning a nursing diploma from Ona M. Wilcox School of Nursing in Connecticut. After spending nearly a decade as a nurse in Florida and Texas, she transitioned into the administrative side of health care when she accepted a position as the director of quality services for the Medical Center of Arlington in Arlington, Texas. There, Liz Youngblood designed and implemented program initiatives that helped reduce costs and improve outcomes.

Liz Youngblood returned to school to earn her bachelor’s degree in general studies from West Texas A&M University and an MBA from the executive MBA program at Southern Methodist University. She leveraged this training in several subsequent positions, including serving as vice president of operations and administration for the Baylor University Medical Center and as president of Baylor Specialty Hospital.

Liz Youngblood draws upon this cumulative experience in her current role as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the Texas Division for Catholic Health Initiatives, a sixteen-hospital network headquartered in Houston, Texas. Active in both her field and in the community, Liz Youngblood has served on multiple boards including serving as the board chair of the Quality Texas Foundation and on the Alumni Board for the Cox School of Business.
