Based in Winder, Georgia, Loren Wesley Vankirk serves as the CEO of Vankirk Electric, where he oversees multi-family construction projects across the United States. Mr. Vankirk also maintains an active presence in his Northeast Georgia community and supports the Boys and Girls Club of Winder-Barrow County, as well as the Casa de Esperanza, which focuses on helping children in need. He is also involved with the Winder Downtown Development Authority, which is engaged in the redevelopment and planning of the city's historical district.

He possesses a strong personal connection to his profession, and both his grandfather and father preceded him in the field of electrical contracting. Mr. Vankirk is a Cheyenne Tribe member, and his great great grandfather held an elite position as a Dog Soldier within the tribe. He and his wife lost their lives in the Sand Creek Massacre, while their daughter Ghost lived and ended up attending an American Indian boarding school.
