An accomplished executive in the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Loretta Itri currently serves as Executive Vice President of Global Health Science and Regulatory Affairs for The Medicines Company, Inc. in which role she oversees all phases of clinical development for various therapeutic agents. Previously, Dr. Loretta Itri was the Senior Vice President of Worldwide Clinical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer at Ortho Biotech Inc., a Johnson & Johnson company.
Dr. Itri graduated magna cum laude from Long Island University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, then received her Doctor of Medicine degree from New York Medical College. She subsequently completed a residency at SUNY-Stony Brook and a fellowship in medical oncology at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where she was an adjunct attending physician for more than 15 years.
Active in several professional organizations, Dr. Loretta Itri has been a member of the Board of Directors of the American-Italian Cancer Foundation, as well as a member of the National Cancer Institute Board of Scientific Counselors.
