A music producer and artist, Manasha Garcia co-founded Jerry Garcia Music Arts with her daughter Keelin Garcia in 2018 to honor legendary musician and fine artist, Jerry Garcia, lead singer and guitarist of the Grateful Dead. As creative director and producer of the mission-based company, Manasha curates her late husband's musical recordings for digital release. Manasha and Keelin oversee the company's fine arts program where limited edition giclees of Jerry’s paintings are selected for release. All company projects benefit charitable endeavors such as ocean preservation.
In 2015, Manasha and Keelin Garcia established the Jerry Garcia Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit leveraging the healing potential of music to support a range of humanitarian, environmental, and artistic causes. She serves as president and project coordinator for the organization, whose efforts include partnering with the WhyHunger organization to supply nutritious food to those in need around the world.
In addition to her charitable work, she is an accomplished mixed media artist. An avid drawer and painter even as a child, she later studied under experienced artists while in attendance at at Shimer College and Oxford University. Her art can be seen online at the Weir Garcia Gallery.
