A member of the Chicago Bar Association, Mariana Karampelas serves as principal of MK Law, drawing upon more than seven years of experience in matters such as depositions, the Freedom of Information Act, and written discovery. In addition to drafting and arguing dispositive motions in civil matters, Mariana Karampelas is adept in real estate transactions, and has attended more than 100 residential closings. Prior to establishing the firm in 2015, the attorney held judicial law clerk positions for Judge David B. Atkins and Judge Lee Preston in the Chancery Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County.
Mariana Karampelas began work as a certified mediator with the Law Offices of Chicago-Kent while pursuing a juris doctor at the school's College of Law, additionally serving as president of the school's Kent Justice Foundation and editor of the Seventh Circuit Review online law journal. Karampelas also holds a bachelor's degree in political science and international studies from Northwestern University and completed a semester abroad at the University of New South Wales in Australia.
Beyond professional pursuits, MK Law’s principal is a member of the Auditorium Theatre Auxiliary Board and fund-raising committee for the Latino Union of Chicago.
