A member of the American Psychological Association, Mark Chae received master’s degrees in applied psychology and psychological counseling at Columbia University before completing a PhD at Seton Hall University, where he earned awards including the Outstanding Graduate Student Award and the Paul T. Hartman Multicultural Research Grant. Prior to completing his PhD in 2004, Mark Chae worked as a counselor and clinician throughout New York and New Jersey, at institutions such as the Baruch College Counseling Center, Winchester Gardens, and the Cross-Cultural Counseling Center.
After earning his PhD, Mark Chae turned his focus to teaching. From 2004 to 2006, he taught undergraduate and graduate classes on topics such as abnormal psychology and multicultural counseling. He has since taught similar courses at Rutgers and Seton Hall University. Supplementing his teaching career, he has completed numerous grant-supported research projects on varying topics. Chae is currently a co-principal investigator on a three-year, $100,000 grant research project titled “Pregnancy, Perinatal Education, and Vaccination Rates for Tetanus-Diphtheria-Acellular Pertussis and Influenza.”
In 2008, Mark Chae returned to his roots as a clinician and began serving as a staff psychologist with the Center for Family Guidance, where he provided psychological assessments for patients at Saint Peter's University Hospital, among other duties. He presently serves as senior director of research and organizational development with New York's AI Blockchain.
