A longtime resident of Greater New York City, Mary Catesby Halsey holds an associate of arts in business from the Katharine Gibbs School and has completed significant studies in horticulture. Mary Catesby Halsey’s interest in gardening began as a youth tending to the property around her grandparents’ homes in Southampton.

Over the course of her career in the floral industry, she has managed dozens of gardens as well as large greenhouses and successful flower shops. In 2018 and 2019, she served as an installation designer for the Macy’s Flower Show. Her areas of expertise extend beyond horticulture and floral design to encompass administrative skills in areas that range from billing and inventory oversight to human resources and client relations.

Since September of 2018, Ms. Halsey has owned and operated the MCH Floral Studio on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. She also performs freelance work as a gardener, flower designer, and holiday decorator.
