Mary Kara Bucci, MD, is a board-certified radiation oncologist licensed to practice in New Mexico, Texas, and Illinois. Named one of America's Top Oncologists in three separate years, Dr. Mary Kara Bucci works for Albuquerque's MD Anderson/Presbyterian Health System. She previously worked in Alaska for Anchorage Associates in Radiation Medicine and Anchorage & Valley Radiation Therapy Center.
From 2006 to 2010, Dr. Bucci worked as an assistant professor and radiation oncologist through the Department of Radiation Oncology, Division of Radiation Oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She was re-appointed as an assistant professor in 2016.
Supplementing her teaching and clinical duties, Dr. Mary Kara Bucci has been a member of several steering and research committees, including the Protocol Document Online System and the Information Technology Steering Committee. She also has contributed to dozens of peer-reviewed studies published in oncology journals. She has delivered presentations in India, China, and Japan, where she received a Junior Investigator Award for her work at the S. Takahashi Memorial International Workshop.
She received her MD from the University of Michigan Medical School, and following a one-year internship at Oakwood Hospital, she completed her residency in radiation oncology at the University of Pennsylvania’s Spruce Street Hospital.
