A graduate of Middlesex School in Concord, Massachusetts, Matt Kafker earned high honors and a cumulative grade average of 91 percent. In addition to taking nine AP exams, he received the Rene N. Bourquin French Prize and the Andrew M. Dawson Physics Prize. A member of the All New England Cross Country Team, Matt Kafker was awarded the 2014 Dana Lourie Bowl in recognition of his improvement and dedication to the sport.
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in physics, Mr. Kafker is taking classes in quantum physics, differential equations, Russian literature, and English language linguistics. He is actively involved with several charitable organizations, among them the Pine Street Inn, where he volunteers on a weekly basis. Mr. Kafker has also taken several international trips focused on language immersion and community service; in Costa Rica, he and classmates helped divert water away from a local elementary school, and in France, he helped rebuild property on nature preservations.
