Attorney Matthew “Matt” Zumstein has been practicing law in California for 20 years. He started his career at the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office in San Jose, where he served as a deputy district attorney. In this role, he prepared almost 500 cases for trial and tried more than 35 felony and misdemeanor cases. Matthew “Matt” Zumstein then entered the private sector and served as a litigation associate for Gordon & Rees, where he handled complex consumer and products liability litigation and gained extensive written discovery, law, and motion experience. He next joined Ropers Majeski Kohn & Bentley as a partner, where he handled a broad practice area that included insurance defense, business litigation, and complex litigation matters.
Matt Zumstein also served as a partner at Smith, Currie & Hancock, where he gained experience in construction law and real estate, handling both litigation and transactional services for public and private projects. He now works as an attorney at Zurich Staff Legal in Sacramento. He holds a JD from McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific.
