An experienced emergency department doctor, Dr. Matthew Bogard has focused much of his practice on patient care in rural settings. He earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine, where he also received the James Leahy Award for Outstanding Medical Student in the Family Medicine department. As a member of the medical school's Delegates organization and Legislative Affairs Committee, Dr. Matthew Bogard became involved in the Nebraska Medical Association and Metro Omaha Medical Society.

During his subsequent residency at the Nebraska College of Medicine, Dr. Bogard stood out for completing the advanced four-year rural training program and for being elected chief resident. Dr. Matthew Bogard also served in a number of leadership and committee positions at that time, including secretary and treasurer of the House Officers Association and preceptor to the Medical Student Longitudinal Clinical Experience Program.

Continuously active in his professional community, Dr. Matthew Bogard served as the co-chair of the Early Career Physicians Committee of the Metro Omaha Medical Society. He has balanced his service with practice in a variety of emergency departments across Iowa and Nebraska, including his current position at the Lucas County Health Center in Chariton, Iowa.
