A La Grange Park, Illinois, professional, Matthew Sapienza holds responsibilities with the Loyola University Health System’s Medical Center (LUMC) as Regional Director of Financial Planning and Analytics. Previously, Matthew served as interim vice president of finance for Loyola Medicine. In this position, Matthew Sapienza reported directly to the LUMC regional chief financial officer and the LUMC president, and provided support for financial improvement plans.
Guiding cross-functional clinical program financial improvement team meetings, Mr. Sapienza collaborates with department leaders in efforts to improve cost savings and revenue performance. Each month he communicates month-end close results to a variety of stakeholders, including more than 300 department leaders at the Loyola Leadership Forum.
After gaining experience as Fresenius Medical Care operations analyst, Mr. Sapienza joined the Loyola University Health System in 2014 as senior financial analyst, and was responsible for supporting eight service lines.
As manager of financial operations from 2015 to 2019, he oversaw a team of four senior data and financial analysts, and provided region-wide financial support. His implementation of a new Kronos Analytics productivity platform generated cost savings that averaged $9 million annually.
