A registered nurse with more than 15 years of experience in emergency room care, Maureen Morrison began her training at Salem State College, where she earned a bachelor of science in criminal justice administration. In 2000, she went on to achieve an associate degree in nursing from Quincy College, and her first position after graduation in 2000 was as a registered nurse for the state Department of Correction at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Norfolk. In this role, Maureen Morrison supervised outpatient medical services for the Norfolk-based prison.
Maureen Morrison accepted a position at Norwood Hospital in 2003. There, she gained her first experience working in an emergency medical care environment. In 2005, she took on her current role as a nurse at the Milford Regional Medical Center, where she provides emergency medical care at the community level. Among her recent activities, Ms. Morrison furnished home hospice care part-time for Steward Health Care from 2014 to 2015. She holds certifications in pediatric advanced life support (PALS), cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and advanced cardiac life support (ACLS). She is also interested in forensic nursing aimed at helping victims of sexual violence.
