A longtime supporter of LGBTQ rights, plastic surgeon Dr. Toby Meltzer specializes in gender confirmation surgeries. Since opening his Scottsdale, Arizona, clinic in 1996, Dr. Toby Meltzer has performed thousands of successful operations. Besides his private practice, he maintains staff privileges with the plastic surgery department at HonorHealth Scottsdale Shea Medical Center and the HonorHealth Scottsdale Osborn Medical Center.

After earning an MD from Louisiana State University, Dr. Meltzer trained in general surgery at the Charity Hospital of Louisiana, and he gained additional experience in plastic, reconstructive, and burn surgery through residencies and a fellowship at the University of Michigan and Wayne State University. He later served as the division chief for plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Meltzer has authored over a dozen peer-reviewed publication and lectured at several notable forums, including the International Gender Dysphoria Association. He is active with the World Professional Association for Transgender Health, an organization dedicated to raising and maintaining high standards of care for transgendered, gender non-conforming, and transsexual patients.
