An accomplished rabbi, Menachem Mendel Bluming received ordination from Rabbi Hillel Pewzner, a Paris-based Jewish leader who played an integral role in the development of France’s national rabbinate, kashrut dietary laws, and traditional Jewish educational system. Menachem Mendel Bluming also holds official status as a dayan (Jewish judge). Pinchas Hirshprung, chief rabbi of Montreal and one of the foremost Torah scholars of his age, presided over Rabbi Bluming’s dayan ordination.

He has served as rabbi and executive director at the Chabad Shul of Potomac since 2003. A major orthodox Jewish movement, Chabad (also known as Lubavitch and Habad) supports a network of independently operated regional Chabad houses or shuls (synagogues) around the globe.

Located in Potomac, Maryland, Chabad Shul of Potomac provides a range of religious and educational services under Rabbi Bluming’s direction. He also officiates at all Chabad Jewish life cycle events and leads a variety of Chabad counseling initiatives. In addition to his work at Chabad Shul of Potomac, he served for six years on the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington Board of Directors, ultimately receiving the Matthew H. Simon Rabbinical Award.
