Michael Hines, a resident of La Mirada, California, has nearly two decades of experience in the field of academic economics. After earning his bachelor’s in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles, Michael Hines continued his education at Claremont Graduate University. He has since received his master’s degree in political economy and public economics and is currently pursuing his doctor of philosophy in economics at the same institution.
A talented teacher, Mr. Hines takes an innovative approach to education that involves creating an engaging learning environment. Over the years, he has taught courses on micro- and macroeconomics, American society, and labor economics and government. He has served as an educator in the University of California system and Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). In addition, he has led online classes.
Outside of the classroom, he remains actively involved with the community of La Mirada as a volunteer with the Red Cross and the LAUSD. Recreationally, he enjoys attending jazz festivals and studying the interpretation of lucid dreams.
