Vancouver-based executive Michael McPhie has experience in diverse areas of the mining industry, including exploration, extraction, operations, and regulatory processes. Before starting the management consulting company Falkirk, Michael McPhie held leadership positions with two Vancouver mining firms.
As the president and CEO of the Mining Association of BC, he advocated for modern mining practices and drafted energy-related policies alongside government agencies. He subsequently obtained the same position with Curis Resources Ltd, a Canadian company that oversees copper extraction from Arizona mines. The firm’s lucrative Florence Copper Project was able to leverage low operating costs to raise $90 million from capital markets.
Since 2015, Michael McPhie has provided strategic consulting to mining companies as a founding partner of Falkirk Environmental Consultants Ltd. In this role, he guides companies through all aspects of mining project development, including regulatory processes and environmental assessments. He also chairs the board of directors of Ridley Terminals, Inc.
