Michael Gastauer is a German entrepreneur, venture capitalist and philanthropist with global business experience specializing in financial technology. He is an advocate of the FinTech revolution and is globally ranked among the 100 most Influential People in FinTech. Gastauer is the Founder and CEO of WB21 Group, a Financial Institution headquartered in Singapore with offices in London and San Francisco.
Originally from Germany, Gastauer founded his first company by the age of 24. In less than three years his business reached a mid 8-digit valuation based on over CHF 1 Billion AUM, and was sold to a Swiss Investment firm.
As one of the first in Europe, he created an online payment system to offer global card acceptance and payment processing solutions for the eCommerce industry. Gastauer led the business to consistent growth and profitability, reaching a US$480M valuation, before it was sold in 2008.
Seven years later Michael become an investor and founder of digital banking group WB21. The WB21 Group is the fastest growing FinTech company in Asia, reaching a US$ 2.2 billion valuation in less than ten months (Forbes, September 2016).
Michael Gastauer is the Founder and Chairman of Gastauer Family Office (GFO), a single family office with over $2.1 Billion assets under management. The Gastauer Family Office has a venture capital arm investing in FinTech companies.
