Admitted to practice law by the State Bar of Georgia, Michael Kennedy McIntyre continues a career of more than three decades as an attorney in Atlanta. He founded Michael Kennedy McIntyre & Associates in 1985 to provide post-conviction representation to clients seeking to achieve relief from a current conviction or a prior conviction.
Since founding Michael Kennedy McIntyre & Associates, Mr. McIntyre has assisted numerous clients in obtaining relief from their convictions and sentences. He has extensive experience guiding clients through the parole process in Georgia and advising clients on their parole eligibility and the guidelines of the Georgia Board of Pardons and Paroles. His knowledge of the Georgia sex offender restrictions and the options available for relief from those restrictions have benefited clients who have been required to register as a sex offender. He also served as the lead counsel for two death-penalty cases brought before the United States Supreme Court, winning both cases for his clients.
Prior to founding his law office, Mr. McIntyre served as an attorney with the Federal Defender Program. He earned his bachelor's degree in history and his juris doctor from the University of North Carolina.
