A generational Coloradan and Denverite, Michele has been a political organizer and longtime community activist for progressive causes. Michele Fry serves as the first vice chair of the Stonewall Democrats of Colorado, a group committed to fighting for equal rights for the LGBTQ community. In her role, she helps guide the organization’s efforts toward advocating for policy changes and supporting political candidates who support LGBTQ equal rights. In her most recent policy effort, Michele Fry collaborated with Denver city councilwoman Deborah Ortega to help introduce and pass a Denver City Council proclamation calling for a statewide ban on conversion therapy--a damaging practice to LGBTQ youth.
In her prior political experience, she served as chief of staff, policy director/analyst for State Representative Jovan Melton,. In that position, Fry provided key insight into proposed legislation and served as a valuable conduit between Melton’s office, other intergovernmental agencies and local municipalities.
