Based in Washington, DC, Michelle Pourciau is an infrastructure and transport professional who has over three decades of experience in the industry, having held various positions. Before starting her career, Michelle Pourciau obtained a BA in urban studies and an MA in city and regional planning in 1980 and 1982, respectively.

She also holds accreditation from Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government and George Washington University’s Center for Excellence in Municipal Management. Throughout her career, Ms. Pourciau has held various leadership positions in the infrastructure and transport industry, where she has primarily worked for public agencies.

Between 1985 and 2007, Ms. Pourciau worked for the government of the District of Columbia, where she started as a planner at the Department of Public Works. Following this, she was promoted to deputy director at the Department of Transportation, before eventually becoming its director. Ms. Pourciau also has similar experience with the Baltimore City Department of Transportation.
