As a construction manager with Arcadis, Mike Stermitz focuses on analyzing environmental issues and conducting Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) inspections for energy companies. His work on pre-construction projects has taken him all over the country, including surveys in North Dakota, Nevada, Texas, New Mexico, and Illinois. Prior to taking on his current position at Arcadis, Mike Stermitz worked with several public and private organizations in the environmental sector, including the Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Parks, the Montana Department of Environmental Quality, and SWCA.
In the early 1980s, Mike Stermitz attended the University of Montana, where he earned a bachelor's degree in wildlife biology. During this time, he played rugby on the school's team and worked as a seasonal employee for the National Park Service at Yellowstone National Park. He has returned to school twice since his graduation, earning an associate degree in environmental technology and completing a 900-hour Montana Law Enforcement Academy program.
