Tips for Car Rental

Tips for Car Rental

Hi, folks, I'm Jordan Baker, and today I want to share tips quick and simple tips for car rental to help you avoid some common headaches and save money the next time you rent a car, as soon as you've decided on your dates and destination, visit the vacation passport website to view the best member's only savings available online. From all of the major car rental companies. Just click on the car rentals icon located on the home page. When you're booking a car rental online, remember that prices are constantly changing based on supply and demand

So unless you reserve immediately, the rate shown is likely to change. When you find a good price, lock it in when you're booking. Be sure to give your flight number and arrival time to protect your reservation if your flight should be delayed. When you're picking up the car, the first thing you're going to want to do is check the mileage and inspect the car body for body damage. Be sure to report any defects at once. If you don't, you could be held responsible for repairs.

You're going to want to familiarize yourself with the workings of the car before you leave the lot. Make sure you know how to operate the headlights, windshield wipers and turn signals. Now, this may seem obvious, but you're going to want to memorize the make model and color of the car so you won't find yourself wandering the parking lot at Disney World with a couple of cranky kids in tow later on. And when you're returning the car, always fill the gas tank yourself so that you're only paying for the amount of gas that you actually used.

Many car rental companies will charge as much as seven dollars and ninety nine cents per gallon to refill your car. Hertz, however, has recently announced that they will charge their customers per gallon market price, plus a six ninety nine processing fee. You're going to want to avoid gas stations near the airport where the prices tend to be the highest. Instead, fill up at a gas station a few miles away at Check-In. Be sure to have the rental agency attendant inspect the car's body in your presence and that you both agree on any damage.

Finally, before you leave the vehicle, take a quick look under the seats in the glove box and the trunk for any personal items you may have overlooked.
