Starting in junior high school, my love for words began to blossom. I know that sounds completely nerdy, but that doesn't make it any less true! There was a dictionary on the shelf beside the living room TV because that was before the time when there was a television set in every room of the house and certainly no TV on your phone. Phones still hung on the wall! If was word was spoken on TV that I didn't know the definition to, I would run up to the shelf and grab the dictionary and look it up. I was also a very good speller. So, even at a very young age, I thought it was important to know what words meant. I always excelled in English class because it all came so very naturally to me. However, I will confess here that it took me till 10th grade to get a firm grip on adverbs! Thank you Mrs. Bunio!!
