A resident of Shreveport, Newton Dorsett has served ownership and senior administrative roles with multiple Louisiana and Texas businesses. His ongoing business ventures include roles as owner of Shreveport’s Remington Suite Hotel and president of the Shreveport-based oil and gas well developer Loutex. Newton Dorsett also serves as owner and manager of Trinity, a petroleum industry well workover and construction company in Waskom, Texas, and president of Marshall Properties, a commercial and residential rental property organization in Marshall, Texas.
Mr. Dorsett is active with the Downtown Development Authority of Shreveport and sits on the board of directors for both the Christus Highland Foundation and the Harrison County Soil and Water Conservation District. He also serves as ball chairman for the Plantation Club and holds active membership in the Southern Trace Country Club, the Pierremont Oaks Tennis Club, the Demoiselle Club, and the Cotillion Club. He supports both the LA Film Prize and the Startup Prize of the North American Petroleum Club.
