The founding partner of Aspen Partners, Nikos Hecht led the hedge fund to become one of the largest of its kind in the world during his tenure from 1996 to 2010. In his capacity with the hedge fund, he pioneered its corporate restructuring and bankruptcy investment programs. Nikos Hecht is also a committed philanthropist who supports a number of nonprofit organizations in Colorado such as Theatre Aspen and Aspen Tree.
Mr. Hecht attended the University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with bachelor’s degrees in finance and history, as well as another one in economic sciences with a concentration in finance from the university’s Wharton School. He began his career in New York as an analyst with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he managed billions of dollars in investment capital.
An accomplished tennis player, Nikos Hecht credits his grandfather Ladislav and father Andrew, both of whom excelled on the tennis court, for his natural athletic ability. After taking up the sport at age 10, he put in thousands of practice hours as a teen and ultimately achieved national ranking in junior tennis. He was also the top-ranked player on the University of Pennsylvania varsity team, and the school's Hecht Tennis Center bears his family name.
