Eggs can be as simple as they are complicated. They are such versatile ingredients, and at the same time, they can be the meal itself. There are classics that everyone knows how to prepare like scrambled, fried, or sunny-side-up eggs. But there are a lot more responses to give when someone asks you how you want your eggs. Here are a few of them and their distinct characteristics.
Over easy eggs are cooked by letting the egg cook on one side for about three to four minutes then flipping it on the other side and cooking it for a few seconds, then flipping it back to the other side. The result is similar to a sunny side up egg in that the yolk is still runny, but the egg has been cooked on both sides.
Over medium eggs is cooked the same way as over easy eggs, but the time the egg is flipped is a bit longer, around five to ten seconds longer.
