After earning his bachelor of arts in political science with a minor in communication from the University of North Carolina, Norwood Teague found employment as a coach and faculty member with Culver Academies in Culver, Indiana. He entered the administrative sector a short time later, becoming assistant director of admissions at the Darlington School in Rome, Georgia, and completing a master of arts in sports administration at Ohio University. Norwood Teague went on to a successful career in colligate sports, in roles including director of basketball operations for the University of Virginia, associate athletic director in charge of marketing for the University of North Carolina, and director of athletics for both Virginia Commonwealth University and the University of Minnesota.

For the past two years, Norwood Teague has served as event director for Business North Carolina magazine in Charlotte. This position places him in charge of directing three annual events, including mfgCON, the largest manufacturing industry convention in North Carolina.
