With more than a dozen years of experience as a teacher and administrator in public school systems and charter schools, Nydia Magdaleno-Gonzalez serves as the principal field supervisor at Concordia University Texas. Alongside mentoring and coaching principal candidates at the university, Nydia Magdaleno-Gonzalez is also the CEO of NMM Educational Consulting, LLC, a firm providing campus training services.
Previously, Ms. Magdaleno-Gonzalez oversaw two public charter districts in El Paso, Texas, as the Superintendent of Vista del Futuro CSD and Burnham Wood CSD. Prior to her leadership of these schools, she served as the T-STEM Principal at the Da Vinci School for Science and the Arts and as the director of curriculum and instruction for Burnham Wood. While Principal at Da Vinci, she led the campus to a State Reward School and as a best high school in US News and World Reports Magazine for two years in a row. While Superintendent she led Vista del Futuro to TEA State Reward, US Federal Reward, and Blue Ribbon status and Davinci School for Science and the Arts to another award in US News and World Reports.
Ms. Magdaleno-Gonzalez maintains memberships in professional organizations such as the Texas Association of School Administrators, the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, and the School Superintendents Association. She received her master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Ms. Magdaleno-Gonzalez presents at many local, regional, and state conferences on best practices in the field of education. Ms. Magdaleno's presentations focus on raising scores for schools with high at-risk populations.
