Bullying is a problem for everyone, not just in school but in the workplace and wider. Modern technology makes it easier for bullies to target their victims. We invest a great deal of our training to combating bullying by introducing a simple system which identifies what constitutes bullying, then developing and practising strategies which will prevent people from being victims. It will also help those who may not think that what they do to others is bullying, torecognise this and change their behaviour.
The basis for all our physical training is our hybrid Shotokan style of karate. Modern karate as practised by the vast majority of people today, has lost many of the elements for which it was developed ...self-protection. The emphasis now is on sports-style training and training largely to gain grades. This is fine as long as it is not promoted as a form of self-defence, because the two are distinctly different.
Park Combatives still practices the fundamentals of karate, but introduces the lost elements from the art which have been omitted over the years.
This means students will learn practical self-protection from their first session as well as gaining the all the benefits from our traditional karate curriculum.
