Based in Rutland, Vermont, Paul Ligon holds leadership responsibilities with Casella Waste Systems and is tasked with developing and managing sustained growth strategies at the enterprise level. As the Senior Vice President of Development and Strategy, Paul Ligon has led the development and execution of profitable business lines focused on delivering sustainable solutions to institutional, retail, industrial, and municipal customers.
Mr. Ligon’s professional background includes a position as a senior consultant with the Tellus Institute in Boston - an NGO and global environmental consulting firm. At Tellus, he worked with the Business and Sustainability Group, as well and the Sustainable Communities Group, where he led projects for organizations ranging from the United Nations to to General Motors.
A respected voice in the ESG field, Mr. Ligon has delivered lectures on topics of business and sustainability at institutions such as the Harvard Business School and the Yale School of the Environment. From 2014 to 2017, Paul Ligon led the creation of “Job Connections,” a privately funded initiative that provides wrap around employment services and support to those recovering from substance abuse throughout the Greater Rutland region.
