An MBA graduate of the University of Maryland, Paul Mason balances a busy career as a corporate communications executive with a commitment to the Greensboro and Winston-Salem, North Carolina communities in which he has worked. He has dedicated his time and energy to charitable organizations such as the American Heart Association, where he served as the vice chairman of a fundraising walk held in Greensboro. Paul Mason also spent 10 years as a board member for United Way of Greater Greensboro, a role in which he guided the nonprofit group’s marketing committee.
Mr. Mason began his corporate communication career in 1995 when he joined Wachovia Bank in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, as the vice president of national media relations. He built upon this experience when he accepted a position leading proactive media outreach for Duke Energy, a major utility company based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Over the next 15-plus years, Mr. Mason held corporate communications leadership roles with companies such as Jefferson-Pilot and VF Corporation, both in Greensboro, North Carolina, and TE Connectivity in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Mr. Mason brings this background to bear in his current position as the director of corporate communications for MSC Industrial Supply, a Fortune 1000 company based in Davidson, North Carolina. Among his accomplishments since joining the firm, he created the company’s first Corporate Communications Center of Excellence while leading a company-wide re-branding effort.
