While in junior high school, Paul Trowe began working as a beta video game tester with Sierra On-Line. He continued to work for the company throughout high school and college, and he accepted a position with Sierra after he earned a bachelor's degree in International Relations from Florida State University. Paul Trowe subsequently helped Sierra with the development of games such as King's Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, The Colonel's Bequest, Space Quest, Police Quest: SWAT, Manhunter: New York, Phantasmagoria, and countless others. Before leaving the company Paul's localization team created and drafted the publication "The Sierra On-Line Localization Bible" where they localized Sierra's games in to French, German, Italian, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese. Over a two year time period Paul's localization team was able to increase Sierra's international revenue from 10% to 60% of top line sales.
In 1996, Mr. Trowe joined Activision as a producer and helped create a new business model to bundle games with 3D video cards, sound cards, and force feedback joysticks. In less than one year with the company, his efforts helped grow annual revenue from $100,000 to over $15 million.
Mr. Trowe later worked with Gremlin Interactive and Greenleaf Technologies Corporation, and he founded Pulse Interactive in 2003. In 2008, he founded Replay Games, where he earned the “Most Addicting Game” honor from MTV for the iOS title Potty Racers ranked #4 on the iOS app store for more than 3 months. Mr. Trowe now serves as the Entertainment Editor of VR Today Magazine, where he has helped grow the publication's online presence from 100 to 100,000 unique page views per day. He is also a crypto currency investor, angel investor and mentor to multiple startups in the Austin area.
