Upon earning a bachelor's degree and master's degree at Baldwin-Wallace University and the University of Illinois, respectively, Perry Beaumont obtained a Ph.D. in economics and statistics from the latter in 1987. While pursuing his Ph.D., he worked as a lecturer at the university's Champaign-Urbana campus. Expanding upon his experience in an educator's role, Perry Beaumont has since taught finance and economics at Fordham University and Columbia University. He draws upon nearly a dozen years of teaching experience in his present role as a lecturer at Columbia University and as a frequent speaker at industry conferences.
Concurrent to his pursuits in academics, Perry Beaumont has worked in executive or consulting capacities with financial services companies like Citibank, AXA, and CSV Incorporated. He presently serves as head of data science at Distinguished Programs, where he analyzes risk mitigation initiatives on behalf of the national insurance program manager.
In addition, Dr. Beaumont is the author of finance-oriented books like Financial Engineering Principles and Fixed-Income Synthetic Assets. His most recent publication is Digital Finance, and he has presented at several prominent data and finance events and holds a membership with a variety of professional organizations.
