Over the past decade, Peter Black has held leadership roles with two firms, most recently Philanthropy Capital Management. Having co-founded the company in 2015, Peter Black served as its general partner and chief executive officer for five years.

During this time, he oversaw investment selection and portfolio management, among other duties. With the alternative investment management firm, he donated 20 percent of profits to charitable causes. Before this, Mr. Black served as Wynnefield Capital’s director of research, beginning in 2011.

In the role, he oversaw analyst evaluation and the development of new investment ideas. He initially joined the company in 1999 as an equity research analyst before being promoted twice. Throughout this time, he worked with several other organizations and sat on various committees.

With Underground Solutions, for instance, Peter Black was a member of the compensation and audit committees. He became involved with the company after investing in 2006 and subsequently departed in 2015.

He earned his master of business administration in accounting and finance from the Fordham Gabelli School of Business. He also earned a bachelor of arts in English from Boston College.
