Peter Killcommons

CEO At Medweb

Medweb

The founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Medweb, Pete Killcommons helped pioneer the efforts to deliver medical care via the Internet. Today, Mr. Killcommons leads Medweb as it remains an international leader in telemedicine technology. His firm has installed Medweb at thousands of sites around the world and has provided battlefield medical technology to U.S. forces stationed in Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan. As CEO, Pete Killcommons oversees Medweb’s day-to-day functioning, spearheads the development of new products, and travels to international locations in order to promote and perfect telemedicine technologies.

Medweb software provides medical professionals with video conferencing tools, image distribution technology, and the ability to handle scheduling, billing, and registration for a busy imaging practice. The integrated software allows radiologists to carefully track patients, reducing wait times and inefficiency. Pete Killcommons’ products also function robustly in high-pressure situations like disaster zones and battlefields.

Recently, Mr. Killcommons led Medweb to develop a suite of mobile imaging and telemedicine applications. These allow doctors, nurses, and other health professionals to receive expert advice while treating patients in inaccessible areas. In addition, Medweb supports cloud technology in order to allow practices and hospitals to store data electronically, especially important in regions without the reliable electrical grid needed for local storage.

As part of his work with Medweb, Pete Killcommons strives to make telemedicine available to remote regions in developing nations. He passionately supports efforts to use telemedicine to reach remote areas, and he recently spoke at a conference about the benefits of applying these technologies to remote mountain villages in Armenia. In addition, Mr. Killcommons oversees the actions of Medweb’s philanthropic endeavors, which uses telemedicine for disaster relief and to improve lives in developing nations.

Pete Killcommons has personally made multiple trips outside the wire in Afghanistan, and he has delivered lifesaving technologies to small villages. He also provides sustainable, off-the-grid, technologies like photovoltaic cells, solar thermal heat, and LED lights in order to provide reliable electricity, heat, and light in areas with electrical supply problems. He has donated equipment to efforts in Afghanistan, Peru, and Haiti, among other countries.
