Hockey Player and Award-Winning Coach

North Andover Public Schools

For more than a decade, Peter Marfione has taught business and economics and served as head ice hockey coach for the North Andover Public Schools of Massachusetts. He comes to his work as an accomplished hockey player in his own right, having competed for both Brewster Academy in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, and Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island. At Salve Regina, where he studied business administration, Peter Marfione led the hockey team as a captain for two seasons.

Over the course of his college hockey career, Peter Marfione played in a total of 97 games, scored 11 goals, and achieved 41 assists. He began teaching at Bedford High School, where he received two Coach of the Year awards from the Merrimack Valley Conference/Dual County League.

Peter Marfione serves as a credentialed referee through USA Hockey and the National Ice Hockey Officials Association. Outside of hockey, he offers his skills as a certified umpire through the Massachusetts Baseball Umpires Association. In North Andover, he also serves as site supervisor for the boys' soccer program and as event staff for the football program.
