A computer networking technology graduate of Nashville State Community College, Phillip Marress began his distinguished IT career as a desktop support engineer with the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services in 2009. In this role, he handled all network printer installation duties, managed daily support tickets, and installed a range of software that included FoxPro and Oracle products. Additionally, Phillip Marress managed larger projects such as transforming a Windows NT machine into a virtual server for the help desk.
Phillip Marress built upon this experience in his next position as an independent contractor who served as an infrastructure site technician for pet food manufacturer Nutro. In addition to leading projects such as designing and deploying a remote PC infrastructure for 250 Nutro sales agents, he provided daily ticket management and both first- and second-tier support for the company’s corporate office and four manufacturing sites.
From 2012 to 2018, Phillip Marress served as a site infrastructure senior analyst for Mars, Inc., in Franklin, Tennessee. Working for the company’s pet food division, he led large-scale technology integrations related to Mars’ acquisitions, including the migration of 14 legacy servers as part of the Doane Pet Care transaction. He also guided the infrastructure transition for the corporate office and multiple manufacturing sites following Mars’ acquisition of Iams.
