With almost four decades of medical experience, Dr. Ram Kancherla is managing partner of the Hudson Valley Cancer Center, which he joined in 2002. With the firm, Dr. Ram Kancherla oversees the cancer center and its associated oncology unit while also treating patients.
Over his career Dr. Kancherla has received several awards, such as being named the top doctor in the area, as voted on by Hudson Valley Magazine readers. Before emigrating to the United States, he attended Andhra Loyola College to pursue a premed degree, which he received in 1975.
Following this, Dr. Ram Kancherla attended Rangaraya Medical College, earning his medical degree in 1982. He subsequently completed an internal medicine residency at the State University of New York at Brooklyn and Kings County Hospital Center, after which he completed a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla, New York.
Dr. Kancherla also holds academic experience, having served as an assistant professor of medicine at the New York Medical College for six years.
