A Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary International, Mr. Taber is founder of the political action group, Iowa Leader, and served on the Wildwood Children's Ranch executive committee. He was the founding pastor of New Hope Evangelical Church in Bend, Oregon, which has grown to three congregations of over3000 weekly attendees. Presently, Mr. Taber is helping Mercy Compassion t raise funds to re-locate and build a new medical clinic and nursing schoolfor Bethseda Medical Center near Cap Haitian, Haiti. Bethesda Medical Center in 2019 had over 35,000 patient visits in addition to their mobile clinicwhich travels into Haiti's mountains to treat the sick and elderly who cannot walk to the main clinic. The new clinic will have a capacity for 50,000patient visits per year and also begin a nursing school to train 40 nurses per class. Founded in 1970, Bethesda Medical Center is celebrating its Golden
Anniversary in 2020. Part of their medical care includes a comprehensive program to treat patients with tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS in concert with
the Health Ministry of the government of Haiti.
